
About Us
The International Organization of International Law (IOV) is a non-governmental organization that joined the Geneva Conventions through ratification in October 2023 at the Federal Council in BERN.
This accession was also communicated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the process number Ratification-31102023.
The IOV fulfills its mission according to Article 144 of the Geneva Conventions IV and UN Resolution 53/144, educates on international law, and protects civilians from violations of international law. In particular, it highlights all legally relevant issues that authorities should consider when dealing with a civilian in domestic actions.
The ratification was carried out in accordance with Geneva Conventions IV Art. 132 and Art. 140. All authorities should also have been trained in Geneva Conventions IV (see Art. 144) in order not to violate the rights of civilians.
